They are responsible for helping us chew, speak and smile. Children and adults have different sets of teeth. Let\u2019s understand the differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children typically start teething around the age of six months old. Baby teeth are known as \u201cdeciduous teeth\u201d as they eventually fall out. They can also be referred to as milk teeth or primary teeth. Children have a total of 20 baby teeth, 10 on the top and 10 on the bottom. These teeth are placeholders for their adult teeth (permanent teeth). Just because these teeth are destined to be replaced, does not mean they should not be cared for. Develop healthy eating and oral care habits right from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adult teeth can start to come in around age six years old. The process of permanent teeth can carry on into the early teen years. Overall, adults have more teeth than children, with 32 teeth total (28 without wisdom teeth).
